I won!!

Jayse and I decided on Leeloo and Korben Dallas from the movie Fifth Element for our costumes this year.

And though it was much simpler than recent years, we still went still all out… Jayse airbrushed our weapons, we custom made our multi-passes, and I even dyed my hair orange and got Leeloo’s tattoo done with henna on my wrist.

Every year we go to Devil’s Night 10 and this year was the biggest and best to date! The costume contest had some amazing competition. But let’s just say I was $400 richer by the time I walked off the stage.

It was an awesome crowd. There must be a lot of Fifth Element fans out there… Everyone was screaming”Mulipass” with me as I held it in the air! So much fun. :)

Wishing everyone a safe and fun HALLOWEEN!

ORANGE

Yesterday was a very orange day.

Earlier in the evening I met up with Shawna and her husband for a Halloween themed trash the dress at a local pumpkin patch. She looked absolutely GORGEOUS in her dress, so of course I could not wait to get nice and messy. And that’s just what we did: rolling in the hay and digging out the pumpkin guts. It was so much fun!!

I love this time of year. The fall is so beautiful with its muted natural tones. And what better way to celebrate!

Later that night my hair was dyed orange (well just the top layer, but it’s pretty bright). So there’s a little clue to my Halloween costume for this weekend!

Thanks again to my awesome model for letting loose and having some Halloween bridal fun with me! What a great day. :)

Gorgeous.

Finally found some time to play. God I love trash the dress sessions!

Our house…

All dressed up for Halloween! We’re celebrating our first holiday at the new house, so Jayse and I decided we had better make it a good one.

Not quite finished yet, but we’re getting there! :)

Brittney and Jason’s Wedding!

Saturday’s wedding was wonderful. Congrats to a beautiful couple!

Earlier in the day, I had a great time getting ready with the girls – sipping champagne and getting all done up. We had a gorgeous view from their Tower Suite overlooking the Wynn golf course.

Just moments before leaving the salon for the ceremony Brittney found a cute little worm on her bridal bouquet. “It’s Dad!” her and her mom screamed with excitement.
And I just want to say that it’s in sharing and capturing moments like these that make me really love my job even more.

Later that evening was the reception at Maggianos, which was a blast – especially when the dance floor started filling up!

It was such a blessing to be able to share Brittney and Jason’s special day with them and all their wonderful family and friends. I wish them many happy, healthy years in their new life together!

Sharon and Ralph’s Engagement

Sharon and Ralph are such a sweet couple. They met in grade school and through everything have kept their friendship throughout the years. Now destiny has brought them together in love and they are getting married with the wedding only a week away!

I love how they make each other laugh. Ralph has some really funny jokes up his sleeves. I can’t wait to hopefully hear more on the wedding day!

I had a wonderful time Wednesday afternoon getting to know Sharon and Ralph at their beautiful home in Las Vegas. I think it’s great that they will be having the wedding reception there – they are even getting a dance floor built in the backyard for the occasion! I got a little preview of their mad ballroom skills.

Only one week away, so check back soon! :)

Group Trash the Dress!

Slot machines, train tracks, burnt out school buses, freezing pool water, and six beautiful brides = one killer time!

Saturday was amazing with six newlywed brides (and 3 hubbies) coming out to Las Vegas from as far as Boston for the first ever group trash the dress. It ended up being an 8 hour photo shoot as we went all across town, starting at the Palace Station hotel-casino and ending in a swimming pool!

Angie from Storybook Brides did an awesome job on Nikki and Clara’s hair and makeup.

Thanks so much to all my gorgeous couples and brides: Clara and Todd, Nikki and Greg, Christine and Ray, Rachel, Amanda, and Dawn. :) You guys totally rock!

This has got to set a record of some kind!

What an absolute blast. It was incredible to have so many beautiful brides come together at one time to trash their dresses with me. And after being kicked out of multiple places, threatened with arrest or camera smashing, and many injuries amongst the group of us I can say it was definitely worth it!! I wear the bruises on my knees with pride.

Stay tuned for more!

Halloween Couple’s Costume Ideas!

I’ve been waiting all year and it’s about that time again…
Every year Jayse and I make our own couple’s costumes. We even won the costume contest at “Devils Night” for 2004 and 2005. I’m convinced we would have won last year as well (we really outdid ourselves), however we ended up arriving at 1am due to last minute costume fixes. It was a bummer missing the contest but probably better than having my costume fall off leaving me bottomless in the middle of the dance floor.

Costume ideas for 2007

This year we are thinking about keeping things simple since both Jayse and I are not sure how much time we will really have to dedicate towards making our costumes. But putting time involved aside, here’s some fun possibilities we came up with below. Be sure to vote on your favorite one or even add to the list!

Lydia and Beetlejuice

Rodger and Jessica Rabbit
I had to put this one in although Jayse won’t even consider it. I still bring it up every year just in case he changes his mind. ;)

Cowardly Lion and Scarecrow
Yes, I would be the cowardly lion. It’s actually a really awesome costume for a girl.

Tiger Lily/Tinkerbell and Peter Pan/Captain Hook

Austin and Felicity Shagwell
shagdelic – yeah baby!

Leave your top pick or other ideas for us in the comments! <3 Chels
