It was great seeing Jamie and Ryan again and meeting family and friends before the wedding at their cocktail party on Friday. Such a great bunch of people to be around! And we all had even more fun on the day of the wedding. Saturday was warm and sunny – a great day for an adventure along the strip and beautiful outdoor ceremony.

Afterwards we headed over to Batistas Hole in the Wall (an adorable little Italian restaurant on the strip) for the reception. The atmosphere here is incredible! The staff is wonderful and there is a short old man that goes around singing and happily playing the accordion.

I loved all the little details of Jamie’s wedding! If you’re looking for beautiful custom invites (and other wedding planning necessities) check out Dulce Creative Designs.

I don’t think we could have asked for a more perfect day to go for a little hike. Beautiful weather, flowers were blooming, and spring was all around us…

Johanna and Dustin even brought “the kids” – Bella and Brutus – along for some fun! It was hard to get them to sit still with so much to climb and play on, but one mention of the word “cookie” and you had their attention.

Bella likes flowers. This was taken right before she ate it….

Here’s some more photos as promised! Kara and Greg did such an amazing job planning this wedding. Beautiful – down to every last little detail…

The ceremony at Christ the King Catholic Church went wonderfully… and of course, the reception an absolute blast! Also, I’m not sure how, but everyone knew the dance moves to all the songs. Kara, do you have a family full of dancers? lol That was too much fun!

Reception Highlights: Elvis, choreographed dance moves, backstreet boys serenade, dance-offs, great toasts and delicious food!

I have been waiting, waiting, waiting… I have called every store around town and from here to Covina, CA (…thought picking up my lens would double as a good excuse to hit up Ikea). But nothing…
The Nikon 24-70 2.8 has been virtually impossible to come by. I have been on waiting lists for almost 2 months, constantly bugging all the major camera stores! But finally, it’s arrived!! And it’s definitely exceeded my expectations making it worth the super long wait. It’s tack sharp through the entire zoom range (all in 2.8), and I must say it makes my camera look quite sexy…

I don’t smoke, but there is cigarettes in our backyard from a house warming we threw a while back. We still have to do the landscaping so didn’t think much of it at the time. However, my little puppy has recently discovered them and keeps bringing the cigarettes in the house to chew the ends. We’re trying to break her of the habit, but it’s sometimes hard not to laugh when there’s a little stub sticking out of her mouth…

The winds nearly blew us away – the cold nearly froze us – the dirt got all over – and in the end it all just added to the fun:

Little about Kara and Greg -
Last September Greg brought Kara out to Vegas and proposed in a setup on a private balcony overlooking the Bellagio fountains which played songs just for her. Though Kara is typically a super tough girl to surprise, he pulled it off seamlessly. Fast forward to today – the wedding is less than 2 weeks away!
From the moment I met them in September – I knew this was a couple I really wanted to work with. It was great that they even changed their date around a few times so that our availabilities lined up. Kara and Greg are the sweetest people, fun to be around, and seem to fit each other flawlessly. So of course I’m very excited to be seeing and photographing them again so soon! Be sure to check back for more photos!
Also, a big thanks to Jayse for coming out to help assist and get some video footage of me in action! Videos are coming soon along with an all new custom site – more to be revealed in the upcoming months!
